Environmentally Friendly web design
Our sites are hosted on highly efficient servers, and we get our electricity from Scottish Hydro, who are the UK’s largest generator of renewable electricity. Hydro make more energy from wind and water than any other energy company in the UK.
All computers and other office equipment is switched off outside office hours, not left on standby. Our main office workspace is small and well-insulated and except in extreme conditions is heated almost entirely by natural sunlight plus the surplus heat from the computers we use. All lighting is low-energy. Use of consumables is kept to a minimum by using electronic documents and online transactions, and by living where we work commuting is all but eliminated. Business travel is kept to a minimum with almost all interaction with clients taking place electronically.
So there you have it. No solar-powered servers or windmills on the office roof, but a genuine low-carbon operation nevertheless. It's not much, but every little helps.
